GOLDEN MILK TEA
This ancient beverage has been documented in plant medicine for millennia for all manner of healing. The combination of the warming, soothing spices make it a wonderful addition to those enjoying WildFit Spring (omit honey), or those simply living through geographic colder periods. Simple to prepare and deeply nourishing, this drink is definitely one to be added to your healthy day-to-day repertoire.
Ingredients
- 2 cups Water
- 2 cups coconut milk
- 2 Cinnamon Stick 3-inch
- 1/2 tsp. Dried Turmeric
- 2 x 1/2" pieces ginger, diced
- 2 Tbsp. honey omit WildFit Spring
- 2 tsp. virgin coconut oil
- 1/4 tsp. whole black peppercorns
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp. Cloves
- 1/2 tsp. allspice
- Ground cinnamon for serving
Instructions
- Heat a small saucepan and add the spices, stirring for just a minute to allow the heat to begin releasing the oils, then pour in the water and cover, bringing to a boil and then simmering for about 20 minutes.
- Strain through a fine-mesh sieve, this decoction can be stored in the fridge for later use. l If serving immediately, re warm the saucepan and add 1 cup of alternative milk for each person, then add ¾ cup of decoction per person. Simmer until desired temperature, add coconut oil and pour into heated mugs
- Stir in honey, if using and sprinkle with cinnamon.
Notes
Remember to omit honey for Wildfit spring.
You may use another non dairy milk such as almond.
